I’ve spent the last thirty years in organizations, three of America’s most notable, and then consulting in many others over the past few years and while I agree with the author’s premise and dont doubt Toyota does it this way – most organizations are far too cut throat for the ‘meaning’ approach. I have to admit the book caught me by surprise when buying it at the airport as I dont like books told with cute little stories and this is one of those. The stories certainly are used to illustrate the point but they are corny. Obviously the author is involved heavily with Toyota and they pull this off and good for them but can’t imagine it working where I have been although I wish it would.

I bought this book at the airport. I started reading as soon as I got on the plane. I must admit, I am usually the first person off the plane. However, I was so engrossed with the powerful and personal insight, that I lost track with what was going on around me. As I finished the last page, I felt inspired to renew my own leadership journey. I also noticed that I was the only one left on the plane. Read this book!

This book is very informative and worth reading. I currently am not a manager, however, the tips outlined in the book will help reframe my current mindset and align me to excell in my current position.

This book is thought provoking and inspires big thinking. This book will profoundly impact your view of leading and living each day. It’s for everyone who needs to or wants to lead others in this world today. Honestly, I wasn’t anxious to read a ‘leadership story’– but this book transcends all that. Three pages in to it, Morrison had me hooked!! The lead character is easy to relate to, the story of his challenges are our challenges. Through out the quick read, Morrison masterfully gives us opportunities to reflect and reframe our unique situations. The six steps create a real world pathway for the journey we must all take to make a difference in our work and personal lives. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book for EVERYONE ALREADY LEADING or JUST BEGINNING TO LEAD in ALL WALKS OF LIFE!
