This is an excellent book for leaders in the church to read individually or as a staff. We have read several sections together as a staff and have found it to be very inspiring and practical. The principles contained in this book have provided direction for training our leaders as we begin a new year in specific areas. The book has provided a foundation for me individually to consider a broader plan for ongoing leadership enlistment and development. I would highly recommend this book for any one that has the responsibility to enlist and train leaders at any level in the local church or Christian ministry.

Malphurs and Mancini have done an excellent job in outlining not only the necessity of leadership at all levels in the local church, but also how to create leaders at all levels. Many books explain the importance of leadership but few tell you how to go about building leaders and establishing a “culture of leadership” within your church.
This book is a must read for all church leaders

I read my first book by Aubrey Malphurs while completing a doctorate in ministry eight years ago. Recently it has become my goal to read everything he has written, because his insights for church ministry in the 21st century are simply unparalleled. This title is the second in a three-part series on leadership. Here he continues where he ended in his first work, “Becoming Leaders.” The third title, “Leading Leaders” is due to be released in the near future.
This book, for all its merits, is not an easy-read. Malphurs is extremely detailed and thorough as he examines the leadership building process for the local church. Still, any pastor serious about developing leaders in his congregation should not be without it.
